10/11/10

Hey,

Well, glad I chose today to update my blog, as there is a nice symmetry to the date.

However, it seems that it has been a little over a month since I updated, well there is a reason for that...

That isn't important, what is important is what I've done recently.

My script is ready, now looking for a cast. Trouble is I've no idea how to go about that so there's a little bit of a learning curve.

I've filmmed a Masonic Abyss performance just waiting for a time to edit into something good.

Dissertation is a ball 'n' chain that will surely drown me, but on the brightside I'm getting somewhere with it.

The Tayside Opera film is shaping nicely, going fit a visit to there rehearsals in soon.

Also, the Monster can collecting has stopped as I have more than enough for its purpose of set decoration.

That's about all for the moment.

Ciao for now

Dave

Hiya,

Spent the last week working on my screen play. Turned it into a treatment to get the layout right before re-writing. It is the same story being told, that of Eric's fight against Boredom, only now it is a more active film.

I won't give away too much right now...

I other news the Monster can collection continues to grow, although I feel the more it grows, the less purpose it has...

Wonder if there is a metaphor hidden in that

Lastly, there is the little matter of TVtropes.org, a website that feeds off time. I have been using that to further place how my story and its characters fit into the plethora of others that are out there...

Well, until next time...

Salut,

Well, today today...

Interesting day working on the lighting master class. Had a look a the rushes and seems we have done a good job. Editing starts tomorrow.

I other areas, had a meeting going over the script, which produced some positive feedback and also some focus for fleshing out the piece.

Also, had a meeting with two members of Tayside Opera concerning the video they want made. Seems my ideas aren't as ambitious as I thought, fortunately it is my hands so I can get the job done.

Now to get a crew together...

Well, until next time...

Well howdy,

Well, let's see, what first...

The crazy notion of adapting Shakespeare I think. It is taking Shylock's monologue discussing and qualifying his reasons for revenge, only for it to be concerned with the death penalty rather than race. I'm drop the idea for the moment, as now is the time to get on with things that are cemented, rather than off the cuff notions. If the work was to be made, it would have to be really well done, so the gravitas of the subject isn't lost.

What else?

Add a meeting with Peter, the one whose tutor group I'm in. A positive start, if a little vague at this point, a good stepping stone for the times ahead. I think if I make a point of arranging meetings, the gathering work to present at them then fourth year should go by fairly well.

Other than the wall and the photos, haven't made much work, though I've expanded my equipment base a little, so that is not bad.

Ciao for now

Sup,

Right, picture time

I borrowed the Uni's Super Wide Lens and attempted to put it to good use. So here are some of the images that poured through that wonderful glass...

Hope to it out again soon, as its is a form of photography that I really want to get to grips with

Anyhoo, there is a little colour on my page again...

Until next time

Well, where to start...

The beginning, I think.

So, back at Uni now, just finished my first week of Fourth Year. It was a long one, thanks to four days of production that had very early starts. It was an endurance race, but we got there in the end and wrapped earlier than first thought.

I'm not going to say much about the production just now, as I'll wait until it further down the post-work to reveal what was truly going on...

I also throught together a circuit-board inspired piece of abstract work on the wall of my studio space

Anyway, just thought I'd mention that I'll updated this at the end of each week, hopefully getting more pictures up as well

Until next time...

Holy crap, a lot to right about.

Well let's start with the Monster can collection. I have added some more.

OK, now that is done, the important stuff. Friday (03/09/2010) was very long, as in I was on the go for 21 hours, but only the first 12 are relevent. During those first 12 hours, I helped load a van, then head off to the beach beside Barry Buddon. There, a patch off beach was selected, where a model house was erected and no less than 8 cameras were placed around it. The building was then burnt. There was then a clean up.

That is a severe compression of the day, as that process took from 7:30 (our call time) right the way through to 19:30 (the time of arrival back to our departure point). There was log removal, camo netting slogging and of course, shifting the sand on the beach.

The following Saturday was less of workout. It took place in the studio and involved breaking a large pain of glass.

Sunday was a day off.

The final day was Monday (06/09/2010). The morning was again one filled with breaking glass. The afternoon was filled with standing on a very windy hill, filming an eagle that will eventually be composited with the window so that it is flying through it.

Well, that was my busy five(ish) days, cho
